Schiltz Bertha
Bertha Schiltz was a Belgian artist who was born in Antwerp in 1901 and who died there in 1990. She was a painter, draftsman and watercolourist. Education at the Academy and at the Higher Institute in Antwerp. Her works bear witness to a predilection for nature and the Scheldt, but she also painted still lifes. From the press: “B.S. lived under the spell of the Schele. In watercolour, oil paint and sketch she tried to unveil to us the eternal mystery of water – now tender, then impetuous.” (piron)
