Remarks: A rather unique oil painting by the Belgian artist Pascal de Beucker, with three terracotta Japanese statues with a basket of fresh oranges. The painting shows the statues of two Japanese ladies and their servant. The work was bougth at an international auction. It was professionally cleaned, the old varnish was removed and some inappropriate past retouches were removed. Then the work was again varnished, so that the original colors are protected and appear. It was probably painted in 1905, the first year that Japan participated in the world exhibition that took place in Belgium "Exposition Universelle et Internationale de Liège".This is a rather special painting from the Belgian artist P. De Beucker who was born in Antwerp in 1861 and died in 1945, because he mainly painted still lifes with flowers.Several works of this artist have been sold by Internationally reputated auction houses. The frame around the paining is new.
