Vandesande Glenn

Glenn Vandesande is a Belgian artist, born in Ostend in 1961. He is a painter and carpet designer. He studied visual arts and graphics in Bruges and debuted with paintings in 1983. He creates scenes from daily life and female figures. Glenn Vandesande often works with monochrome beige/brown tonalities. His design is powerfully stylized to an almost geometrically refined form. From the press: "His work is heavily influenced by a type of public graphics, creating broad planes and a transparent gracefulness that shapes the characters or objects. Recently, G.V. has also conceived several paintings where the material and relief play a significant role." (1990) He is listed in the Lexicon of West Flemish Visual Artists VII, BAS II, and "Two Centuries of Signatures of Belgian Artists" (Piron).
