Godar Luc
Luc Godar was a Belgian artist who was born in Brussels in 1942 and who died in Anderlecht in 2009. He was a painter. He followed training which led to the decoration and furnishing of architectural spaces. From 1967 he fell completely under the spell of painting. Leans towards pure poetic surrealism. He finds his inspiration in the landscape that he processed poetically and where there is no place for people because they would disturb all peace. Meticulously finished design. Exhibited with Les Arts en Europe in Brussels from 1978 to 1980. From the press: "His personal language: poetic approaches to nature, contrasts of certain elements, wordplay, petrified thoughts, lyrical celebration of the mystery" and "He also creates poetic landscapes in which man is absent as a disturbing element" (ARTO, 2000) and "He likes blue skies with white clouds. He portrays an idea in a sublime way, just like his proud predecessors did. Sometimes he voices an ironic version of a particular thought or plays with words, such as in the work Les livres de chevet "(Rotary Contact, 10-2013). Also working as a designer of occasional graphics and small painted furniture. Mentioned in Artists and galleries 1977, BAS II and Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists. Source: Piron
