Etsen kopen van de Nederlandse kunstenaar Maarten Langbroek

Langbroek Maarten

Maarten Langbroek was a Dutch draftsman, graphic artist, and painter, born in IJmuiden in 1918 and died in Harderwijk in 1985. In the early 1930s, he took private lessons with Kees van den Bosch. In 1935, he became a student at the Amsterdam Institute of Applied Arts Education, where he obtained his L.O. drawing certificate in 1938. During World War II, he went into hiding to escape persecution.  After the war, Langbroek began his career as an illustrator for various publishers and companies. Although he became best known for his etchings, he also created watercolors. His subjects ranged from marine scenes with ships from the Holland-America Line to cityscapes and animals. He was a member of the Graphic Designers Netherlands (GVN). From 1969, he combined his work as an artist with teaching drawing in secondary education.  Langbroek retired in 1981. However, his work remains an important part of Dutch graphic and painting art.  (BT)
