Karel Van Belle (Charles Van Belle) is a Belgian painter born in Ghent in 1884 and died there in 1959. He was a painter and decorator. Education at the Academy in Ghent under the direction of J. Van Biesbroeck, J. Delvin and L. Tytgadt. Honorable mention (third prize) at the Prix de Rome in 1913. Madonnas, young girl figures, greyhounds, decorative panels. Also found inspiration in romantic and historical scenes. From the press: "He is the virtuoso of the brush, who always strives to portray an inexhaustible series of dream images born in the poetic knitting of a color-lover's dream artist."
