van Genegen Joseph
Joseph van Genegen was a Belgian artist born in Antwerp in 1857 and died there in 1936. He was a painter. Realized landscapes, forest and river views and flowers. Exhibited at the Salon of Brussels in 1881 (A street in Zandvliet), at the Salon in Ghent in 1883 (De Krekelberg), at the 35th Exhibition in the Casino in Ghent in 1892 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Royal Encouragement of the Fine Arts in Ghent (Festivities on the Scheldt in Hoboken, January 12, 1891) and on the "Exposition d'Anvers" in 1898. Mentioned in Bas II and Two centuries' signatures of Belgian artists. (PIRON)
