Van De Walle Georges

Georges Van De Walle - also called Cies De Kalle - was a Belgian artist who was born in 1861 in Ghent and died there in 1923. He was a painter. Student of the Academy in Ghent. Painted landscapes and scenes with animals. Was part of the first group of painters of Sint-Martens-Latem and shared a studio with F. Van Den Berghe. Participated in the Salon in Ghent in 1883 (View in the vicinity of Ghent). At the end of his life he became mentally retarded and died in the Psychiatric Center Dr. Guislain in Ghent. Source: Piron.
