Dresse Fernand

Fernand Dresse was a Belgian artist born in Charleroi in 1916 and died there in 1993. He was a painter. Education at the Academy in Mons, directed by Louis Buisseret (1932-1933), student of A. Van Haelen in Brussels. Realized landscapes, industrial sites, compositions, portraits, still lifes, among other things, and particularly excelled in his images of birds and flowers, which he managed to display with the precision of a miniaturist. First prize at Art Jeune in Brussels in 1943. Was a member of the Kunstkring in Charleroi. Exhibited at the Galerie d'Art Contemporain in Charleroi in 1955, at the Petite Galerie in Brussels in 1956, at the Premier Salon d'Oeuvres d'Artistes Wallons in the Palace of Fine Arts in Brussels in 1941. Work in the Museums in Bergen and Charleroi (Sitting nude). Listed in Two centuries of signatures by Belgian artists. (PIRON)
