de Keulenaer Fernand
Fernand de Keulenaer, (Ferdinand Leo), was a Belgian artist who was born in Wetteren in 1919 and who died there in 2015. He was a painter, draftsman, etcher and sculptor. Education at the Academy in Wetteren and at Sint-Lucas in Ghent. As a sculptor, he designed figures and torsos in concrete, among other things, he found his inspiration as a painter and graphic artist in the landscape. He also worked as a designer of book covers, prayer cards and calligraphic sayings. Was a teacher from 1948 and from 1966 to 1980 director at the Academy in Wetteren. In 2013, he and his wife stayed at the RVT Sint-Jozef in Wetteren, where their sixtieth wedding anniversary was celebrated.
