Deuse Pierre

Pierre Deuse was a Belgian artist, born in Argenteau/Liège in 1940 and died in Hermalle-sous-Argenteau in 2016. He was a painter, draftsman, and pastelist. He studied architecture and painting at Sint-Lucas in Liège, under the guidance of J. Julémont. Deuse created lyrical abstract compositions and inner landscapes. Initially, he designed object paintings with painted wooden elements. Later, he created non-figurative pastels in somber tonalities. He was a teacher at Sint-Lucas in Liège. Retrospective exhibitions were held in 1999 at the Zaal Saint-Georges in Liège and in 2002 at the Foundation for Contemporary Belgian Art. Works by Pierre Deuse can be found in the museum in Liège. He is listed in BAS II and "Two Centuries of Signatures of Belgian Artists" (Piron).
