
Dratz Constant
Constant Dratz was a Belgian artist who was born in 1875 in Lanaken/Brussels and who died in 1930 in Dilbeek. He was a painter, illustrator and graphic artist. Father of Jean Dratz. In 1898 took part in the preparatory competition for the Prix de Rome. Painted and engraved landscapes, figures, portraits, Flemish village and city views. Settled in Dilbeek and effortlessly found inspiration in the landscapes and farms in the area. Took part in the "Exposition Universelle et Internationale" in Ghent in 1913 (Return; Kempen and the Ancestor; Kempen). At that time, he worked in Vilvoorde. Also took part in the Triennial Salon in Brussels in 1914 and the "Exposition de la Lithographie Belge Contemporaine' in the Royal Library in Brussels in 1931.
