Boudry Jules
Jules Boudry was a Belgian artist, born in Poperinge in 1888 and died in Poperinge, in 1951. He was a painter, draftsman, watercolorist, gouachist and illustrator. He was the cousin of Alois Boudry. He followed his education at the Academy in Poperinge, under the supervision of Alfons Veranneman, and then, for a period of three years, at the Nijverheidsschool in Ypres, under the supervision of Prosper Degroote. Subsequently, he was a student of Juliaan Devriendt (1912-1913) for one year. Jules Boudry became a teacher of ornamental drawing at the Academy in Poperinge and from 1931 to 1945 he was a drawing teacher at the Sint-Stanislas College in Poperinge. He is mentioned in the Lexicon of West Flemish visual artists vii and in Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists. (Piron)
