Joris Minne was born in Ostend in 1897 and died in 1988. He was a Belgian visual artist. He is known as one of the contributors to the Lumière magazine (1919-1923). Together with Frans Masereel, Jan-Frans Cantré, Jozef Cantré and Henri Van Straten, Joris Minne from Antwerp belonged to De Vijf (Les Cinq), a group of graphic artists who renewed the Flemish wood carving art.
